Re: Partnership

It sounds like your partner will cooperate to get this done. An attorney can look this over for you and give you some advice. You want to be sure that your partner is OUT of the business and can not come back and claim a part of it later. And you want to be SURE that you know what the debts and the problems in the business are; you do not want to find out later that your partner 'borrowed' some money that you have to repay, or some other problem.

If there is no separate agreement, the disassociation of a partner from a partnership is controlled by the Partnership Act. Exactly how the Act affects you is dependent on your particular circumstances. You should contact a business lawyer to discuss the details.
