My advice regarding your search for help is to stay very far away from invention development companies and the like. In forty years of practicing engineering and law, I have yet to know of anyone who has been helped by them. Even when they are able to secure a patent, it is usually a "design patent." The commercial value of a design patent (as opposed to a "utility patent" is very limited.

Lawyers who practice before the PTO to obtain patents pass a special bar examination and are licensed in addition to their state license. I can't give you any recommendation in your area. Ask around in companies that depend on patents. Even if they have an in-house staff, they will know outside counsel also.
