Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Pro Se

We decided to file a complaint on our own, pro se, however we need assistance regarding the legal system and understanding procedures.

Are there attorneys who provide assistance to pro se for a minimal fee? or Can we pay an attorney on a per hour basis and per consultation?

Thank you

Re: Pro Se

I don't know of any experienced lawyer who will work with you on that basis. I have, on occasion prepared a complaint for a client to file in his own name, but never more than that. The issue is one of responsibility and control. A lawyer takes a serious professional risk by giving paid "advice" without being in control of the case. Who then is responsible for failing to ask the right questions? Except to give informal advice to a friend, any lawyer with an ounce of sense would not provide such assistance except to another lawyer.
