Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Profane Telephone Calls

I am a director/supervisor at a large hotel chain.

My job is overseeing around 10 employees daily.

On occasion, I must call substitute emplyess to fill in for sceduled employees who can not arrive for their scheduled work shift for mostly personal reasons.

Recently, when I called a replacement co worker to inquire if they could come in to work to cover another person who called in ill, the phone went unanswered.

Shortly after hanging up, I received a phone call from the spouse scream profanity and informing me NOT to call the house anymore. This person is NOT an employee. I advised my GM whoom I report to and she did nothing and did not want to get involved.

The employee arrived the following day and threw her uniform on my desk and quit, The employee then went to the GM and was told to return to the our department and go to work. We have no security on property. What is my best resoloution for my safety and this unfortunate situation.

Thank You.

I am not sure what it is that you are now dealing with. Is this employee a problem for you now? or for the hotel? What do you want to have happen?

If you would like me to assist, please call my office. I am in Hackensack. A half hour consultation will be $75.00. You can then decide how you would like to proceed.
