what is th proximity /distance a bar needs to be from schools

I live near a recently opened bar which is very close to two schools and need to now if there are any laws prohibiting bar proximity to schools.

Most states have laws prohibiting a bar to be located within certain footage of schools. You can get a copy of the local or state laws on this at any law library in your area. Also, when you applied for the permit, were there any restrictions indicated as to the location? You could check with the local ABC office also.
