Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
i puchesed used computer equipment from a major new and used computer and gaming retailer it has the previous owners personal information on it including credit card information ,is the retailer liable and what should i do

for a start, you should wipe out that prior owner's information in a foolproof permanent way. I do not know how to do this technically. Is the retailer liable? I have no idea. but you being in possession of someone else's personal info and credit card info is a bad, bad idea. get rid of it.
sort of like finding someone's wallet. you can't keep it.
the prior owner would be really angry to find this out, I think. But I have no legal advice for you beyond what I have said.
