Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
I purchased a used car from a dealership and returned it within 72hours. They will not cancel the sale even though the finance papers have not been submitted. They also told me the original papers, that I signed, have a mistake in them and they want me to sign a new paper.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. There is no "grace period" to change your mind and return a car one it's sold - unless that is written into the contract. Whether the "mistake" in the papers signed is something that might give grounds to cancel or rescind the contract is another matter. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.

I agree with Kevin. No recission period unless there is an in home sale, and you MAY be able to cancel the contract if there is an error - DO NOT SIGN ANYTHNG ELSE!!! You need to consult with an attorney to see if the error may help you recind the contract.
