Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
I recently purchased an online service to search for rental properties. After being able to enter the website, I realized that I did not like the service that I was being provided and that I paid for. The very next morning when the business was open again, I called to cancel my subscription. They said they have a "No Refund" policy. When I purchased this service over the phone, no one mentioned the no refund policy. Can a business have a no refund policy? Also, because I was not made aware of this refund policy, 24hours did not even pass, and I was unsatisfied with the services provided, should I be able to get a refund?

Any attorney will ask if their "No Refund" policy is posted on their website? A business can have various policies. Whether they are legal or not is a different question. How did you pay for the service? If by credit card, which is the online norm these days, you can always dispute the charge when it appears on your credit card and let your credit card company investigate and sort things out. You can also complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
