Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
I'd like to record myself reading a children's book that I own to my children and share the recording with my online community. There is no charge to join the community and nothing is sold in the community or on the website. Do I need the publisher's permission to do this? Been trying to get in touch with publishers and have been unsuccessful. Thanks for your time.

If the work is copyrighted, you need permission of the copyright owner in order to do what you propose. It is a public performance of the work and otherwise would violate the copyright.
