Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

I want to record a sales call and bleep out all the personal information like (name, email, etc) and then I want to publish that recorded call on my website with my annotating the sales call for learning purposes so my visitors can see how I guide someone from an open to a close of a sale. Is that legal or do I need to ask the persons permission to publish on my website ?

The primary issue is not whether you can publish the recording but whether you can make it in the first place. Some states require the consent of both parties to a telephone conversation if the wiretap laws are to be avoided. Other states require the knowledge and consent of only one of the parties. If you record the conversation in a state where the consent of all parties is required, you will need the other speaker's consent to the publication. You should not say that the recording might be used for training purposes and then publish it on the Internet (for training or otherwise). So, first find a state where your consent is all that is required to made a recording of the call. After you have something that you want to use, I suggest that you review it with your lawyer.
