Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
Rights to Remove Post?
I own a small online one-person business. The business has a fictitious name. Recently, I discovered a posting on an industry discussion website that lists the fact that I am the owner and only employee. Somehow the poster did research and found this out. I never told anyone that the business is just me but would not lie if someone asked. I do not want prospective customers to know that the business is just me. Do I have any rights to have this post taken down?

Re: Rights to Remove Post?
First, you do not have a right to compel removal of the post although you can ask the website owner to voluntarily remove it.
Secondly, you should talk with a tax and business lawyer to set up your business the right way. Probably, you should be a Limited Liability Company. If you were set up as an entity, you would have an additional layer of protection and privacy.
I hope this helps!
