Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
small claims
I had a motor replaced in my car and it was suppose to be for $1300.00 but they kept telling me other things had to be done. I drove the car less then 30 miles before it had to be towed because the belt flew off, I had it towed back to the shop and the car sat for months. I threatened the owner about a law suit and he some how got it to run, just enough to get it back to my house, he said other things needed to be done but I didn't want them to do it. The car still does not run and it cost me $2400.00 after all said and done. I couldn't afford to get it repaired until now. I took it to another auto repair shop and they are telling me I got robbed by the 1st auto repair guy describing the work as amateur at best. I would like to recover some of my loses from the 1st auto repair shop. I have all the receipts and a warranty that is for 10,000 miles and like I said I'm lucky to have more than 30 on the so called new motor. Please advice.

Re: small claims
Head to small claims and get the 2nd mechanic to come as your wittness, or get a 2nd opinion from a 3rd shop.
Who issued the warranty?
