Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

I would like to start a company to sell a handbag I designed. I'd prefer to have it manufactured here in the US and, possibly, internationally (I am currently looking into the Philippines). How can I protect my product from counterfeits? Would a (US) provisional patent and a signed non-disclosure agreement be enough to reinforce intellectual property protection, both domestically and internationally? What steps should I take to protect my design and brand? Also, what type of attorney should I hire for future/in-depth help? Thank you.

You sound like you have a well thought out plan for a significant business venture. Clearly, you'll need more in-depth legal advice than can be offered in a brief email. Please feel free to contact me so that we may explore how I can be of assistance. 973-921-0600.

Kindly note and remember that my response is merely a general comment on the law related to your question, and NOT legal advice or opinion. Also, your question and my response does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between us. You cannot rely upon what I have written, because I do not have all of the information that I need to advise you or render an opinion. Even simple facts you have not shared can completely change my answer. For me to give you legal advice or opinion, you would need to hire me to be your lawyer, and then we would need to discuss this in detail and go over the documents.
