if sued as president of small c corp due to employee embezzaling money into his own company what is best way to proceed my co. paid workers and he took cash and kept

First, you need to get a good business attorney to represent you in this matter. This is not something you can do by yourself. Secondly, you will need to see the corporate documents and your agreement with the corporation because you should be able to either have the corporation reimburse you for legal fees, defend you, or another way help you with this.
Also, if you did not know about the embezzlement and should not of known, you certainly have some good defense arguments.
