Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey

co-worker issues

My wife is a teacher at a public high school and a fellow woman teacher who is actully my wife's mothers cousin continues to harrass my wife by letting their superiors know every little thing my wife does such as the time she comes to work and if she might let one of the kids get away with something minor such as leave the food cafe with a soda to go put a book in his or her locker. This woman would observe this and immediatly run and tell the principal or VP. My wife feels as if she is on constant watch from one of her equals. In the beginning we thought it was funny and we made jokes about it with friends and family but now i see it in my wife that she has changed by not wanting to go to work or get out of bed.. I am concerned for her well being and that she does not come down with some type of depression. Can we file some sort of harrassment issue or at least a cease and dissist or anything legally to stop this nightmare of a woman ruin my wifes life

Your wife may want to send a formal letter to the most senior school/district administrator outlining her concerns about the gossip mongering that is making it difficult to function with a high level of professionalism and professional decorum that she expects for such highly educated professionals. Your wife's case does not rise to a level for legal intervention. Don't waste her money hiring a lawyer unless you can point to any violation of the laws enforce by the EEOC or any other governmental agency.
