Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey
In early 2009, I did some freelance work for a client in NJ (I'm in NY) and delivered the finished product on time. The client told me she was very happy with the work but has never paid me a penny of my fee (just under $1,300), which the client agreed upon in an email message. I went to small claims court and the client failed to show up. While I won the case, I have yet to receive any payment whatsoever. I sent an information subpoena to the client a few weeks ago, but I have heard nothing back.
I honestly don't know how to proceed at this point, and any information you could provide me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
