Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey
Employee rights issue
I am hearing impaired and have no special equipment for work. I guess they thought that I do not need it. I was called in the office for my boss to tell me i'm unprofessional because i talk too loud and claims that i have a bad behavior. He went on to say that i need to stop starting rumors but never ask if i started or said a rumor. Then stated that if i keep it up then basically i will be fired. Can they do that? Can I take them to court for this?

Re: Employee rights issue
It sounds as if you have been discriminated against based upon your disability. At minimum, your employer should be FORCED to give you reasonable accomodation. Give our offices a call or e-mail me directly and I will provide you with a short questionnaire to determine how much you are entitled to recover
