Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey
Retrieval of Personal Documentation
I lived w/someone and have recently ended relationship and he refuses to give me back a filing cabinet which is filled with personal private documentation like my passport, ss card, citizenship papers, etc.... The cops say they can't go to his house and ''force'' him to give this back to him. What other alternatives do I have????

Sue. You can bring on a law suit for conversion and replevin and seek return of your property.
