Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey
School Records
We are taking our child out of one school and checking our options as to where we would like to put him. I asked the current school to give me his School File. They refuse. Stating they give us a transfer card for the new school. We do not know which school he is going to. We might even move out of state. By Law, Does a parent have the right to obtain a minor child's school records? Thank you!

Re: School Records
I think you DO have a right to see it, but I suspect you don't have the right to take it. It depends upon your state law, so go see an education specialist lawyer if you absolutely have to have the file.
