Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey
I am transgender and i recently got a job at a hotel because of my friend working there. Only people know im transgendered is my friend and now my general manager. The issue is im starting to hear alot of rumors about my gender from this one co worker that doesnt like me for unknown reasons. They hire a new girl that hasnt even been here a week and went up to my friend and asked her if i was a man. My friend didnt answer her and just replied why are you asking me this. The women said she overheard the co worker talking about saying its weird working with her and shes a dude telling another co worker and the other co worker replied its none of your business. She doesnt bother you so dont bother her. She has told maybe about 5 people about my situatuion. I reported her to my manager and he hasnt yet to take action. I would like to know if theres any legal steps i can take because i feel uncomfortable coming to work. Please help

You may have a claim but you would really need to meet with an attorney. NJ has very strong laws against discrimination.
