Hi, I am a law student from Isreal I'm writing a work on electoral franchise.I would like to get information about my subject and the legal issue, Wether a person who comitted crime has the right of voting in public elections.Thanke you.

Persons convicted of felony crimes in the U.S. lose many of their rights of citizenship, including the right to vote. One does not lose voting rights upon conviction of a misdemeanor. In some instances those convicted of a felony can have their civil rights restored after serving their sentences.

As the law stands in the United States now, those who have been convicted of felonies cannot vote in any elections.
