Auto Repair- Car gone for 4 months!!
I have a car which I am financing (after my lease ended 2-05). My car was towed on May 14th to the dealer because there is something wrong with the engine and received confirmation my car was there and would be looked at within 1 week. I called every week and left repeatedly voice messages to get a status but the service mgrs were never responded (they kept quitting).
After I escalated to the manufacturer (8-07), a claim was opened and contact made with the Interim Svc Mgr. After 2 days, they found my car with no paperwork, no record of repair and parts inside, but no clue. After finally doing the diagnostic (9/5/07), they told me part of the problem, and I directed them to contact my warranty company so they could pay for the repairs.
That interim mgr has since left, my car put back on the lot again with no record or information. The current Svc Mgr stated he doesn’t know what’s going on but believed my car was an “end of lease” turn in. After more than 4 months of possession of my car (which I have been paying for) what are my rights? Can I force them to take possession after all this time? What do they owe me?

Too many possible questions and scenarios here. You really need to get all your docs/notes together and sit down with an atty to see if they can direct you. You may have a loss of use claim, or a warranty claim, but I am unclear as to some of the facts, so as I said, you need to sit down with ALL your info with an atty. Good luck.
