Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
Bought car 7/05. No plates, registration, title as of 12/30
Used car lot purchase 7/8/05
. Unable to use car TWICE since July because the dealer did not provide new temp tags.
Just before Thanksgiving said he needed new notarized forms & he would send them to us. Never came. Husband went 1st Sat in December to get forms and got notarized paperwork back to him same day.
Kept stalling us. Then said you will have plates next Monday 12/19. NUMEROUS calls to him since 12/19 unreturned. Today said he has no help & has not taken paperwork to DMV- then he said paperwork was there & not picked up.
I am tired of his lies and afraid we are not the only victims. He needs to be stopped from defrauding others.
Ideas???
Thank you!!!!

You need to contact the MVC-look on the state webpage at www.nj.gov and follow the instructions to get to motor vehicle. They take a pretty dim view of this thing, given that I believe they have to get the tags in 20 days.
Let me know if you have any questions.
