Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
I brought my New Land rover in for warranty service and was told they were out of Land Rover loaner vehicles and I would have to use a Avis rental car. I asked if I was being charged and was told a 3 dollar a day Home Land Security charge. When I asked why I had to be charged 3 dollars a day when the other Land Rover customers are charged nothing for Land Rover loaners, they said there was nothing they could do. They took advantage of the fact that I needed a way to get home and I was basically forced into a Avis Hyundia. Am I and all others being discriminated against by being charged 3 dollars a day because the dealership doesn't have enough loaner cars?

You are not being discriminated against, you are being screwed $3 a day. Discrimination means you are being treated differently because you are black, Muslim, female, a Giant's fan, etc., NOT because your car had a problem an hour too late to get the last in dealership loaner. If you can afford a Rover, you should be educated enough to know this, but then of course some people just like to whine and bitch.
