Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
New car purchase
I negotiated a deal on a new car last friday. We agreed on a price, I left a $500.00 deposit in good faith. The dealer called me the next day to tell me the deal was too good. He wants an extra $300.00 to do the deal. I have a signed sales order with the original price on it. Can they do this, or are they just posturung for more money?

Re: New car purchase
This is pretty bad. I suggest you have a lawyer look at it.
Would you buy a steak, and then have the butcher run after you down the street to get more money for that steak?
However, the contract documents might have some 'weasel words' that let them do this, so have a lawyer look at it for you. Move fast!
