Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

Cheated in a apparel shop

I bought a dress from a shop. The dress required some simple alteration. The shopkeeper called a tailor and I gave the specifications. Next day when I collected my dress, I found that the tailor has done a terrible job and clearly had no tailoring experience. My 69$ dress is now spoiled and useless. Is there anyway I can get my money back or atleast expose the fraud of the shopkeeper and so called tailor?

Re: Cheated in a apparel shop

You have limited options in light of the low dollar value of the claim. You can bring a claim in small claims court, which is relatively easy and the local county courthouse will have the forms and explain the procedure. The other thing htat oyu can do it make a claim to the BBB, which may get them moving on trying to reolve it. Sending a letter and advising that you intend ot contact the local consumer media reporter, may also do the thrick. Otherwise, you may jsut have to mark it up to bad experience and make sure to tell everyone you know to avoid them. Best wishes.
