Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
Contract to do work on home
I contracted with an awning company to make some awnings for my home. Gave owner a 50% deposit. He never showed up on date planned. Called him frequently. Finally showd up and installed a couple of the awnings then left without saying anything to me. I noticed there were holes and smudges in all of them. Have called him numerous times and he does not return my calls. I am very upset and do not know what to do? What are my legal rights, if any?

It sounds pretty clear that he has breached
his contract The question is whether
you can actually collect after you sue and
have a court award you a return of the deposit
or other UCC remedies.
You should really talk to counsel
