Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

deposit

I wanted to purchase books from someone on craigslist. I went to his house to look at the books and left a $25 deposit. The next day, I changed my mind and wanted my deposit back., He won't give it to me. Am I entitled to my deposit back? and if so, how do i go about it?
