Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

Fraud

Ok, I went to a site on the internet that sells sewing merchandise. I bought a thread holder and browsing thru the site I came acrose and amazing deal, there were 3 embroidery machines list for $0.00. I have copies of all this information. I purchased 1 of those machine with my thread holder and I was given a credit card authorization code and a sales order number. They totaled out the order for $0.00 for the embroidery machine and $49.99 for the thread holder and $25.00 shipping for a grand total of $74.00. Then I received an email thanking me for my order and showing my order information, which was qty 1 sku#sebrult2002d Brother/Embroidery machine price $0.00 and qty 1 sku#acthreadstandas10 10 spool thread stand price $49.99 and $25.00 ground shipping. Then I received a phone call and the gentlemen laughed and said that the machine was $3,200.00 and I told him that is not what it stated on his web page or his confirmation email. So he got mad and hung up. Then they sent me an email saying that they are not responsible for typo's. I think people should be responsible for what they do. Especially since the transaction went thru to a email confirming the order and the price. What can I do? Thanks in Advance

Re: Fraud

I've heard of companies (like Amazon.com) honoring certain offers on their website when the price was accidentally below the real price. But how can you expect a company to honor this mistake? It's clearly unreasonable for you to think that you can get something that costs $3200.00 for $5.00 let alone $0.00. I think the courts would find the same if push came to shove.
