Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
lied to, misled, misinformed about mortgate refinancing
6 months ago I refinanced my mortgage. Not until I received my first mortgate statement, did I realize that I had been scammed. I was lied to by my agent..and misled by the brokerage firm as to my TRUE financial obligations. I have since spoken to the mortgate broker and the bank, which holds my mortgage. What are my rights as a consumer and what steps should I take first, to correct this situation. Should I hire a lawyer or can I remedy this myself?
I am currently paying a higher interest rate now, then my origianal mortgage! Everytime I get a new statement I break out in tears! How could I have been so stupid!!
Please guide me in a right direction. I am trapped in an ajustable rate mortgage, which I was told never goes up...but has done nothing but increase every month for the last 6 months!
Thank you for your time

Re: lied to, misled, misinformed about mortgate refinancing
you need to find an attorney who can handle this kind of problem, and you will probably end up suing the people who defrauded you.
You could contact Glen Chulsky, Esq., out of Ledgewood NJ, he seems to be a very smart, decent sort of attorney, and says he handles a lot of consumer fraud (although I have to tell you that I have not had any experience with people who have used his services).
You could contact me, if you like. I am in northern New Jersey. I will be happy to discuss this with you; the telephone consultation will be free.
My contact information can be obtained from the links below, just click on the Attorney Profile link. Let my secretary know you found me through LawGuru.
