Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
Membership Agreement
I signed a Membership Agreement with Direct Buy on Saturday afternoon. After coming home and looking over the agreement I saw a line that stated no cancellation allowed without full payment being due. I gave a deposit towards the membership fees and will be financing the balance ( a separate finance contract was also signed) Do I have the legal right to withdraw my membership if done within three business days?

Re: Membership Agreement
Generally the 3 day review period is for IN-HOME sales, so I believe you are out of luck, unless they mislead you and made misrepresentations, which of course you would have to prove if you want to court. I'd call first, and make your best argument that it is not as presented by whomever you spoke with, to see if you can get out. If not, if you think you have an arguable case, refuse to pay in writing and they will sue, and you can argue your position to a judge. Chances are, you are stuck with your decision to sign.
