Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
refund policy
I tried to return a faulty item to a store the day after purchase. The store would only give store credit,I understand this is there return policy, but isn't the law different for faulty goods because quite frankly i don't want to give the store any more business.

Re: refund policy
You are correct. If the product is defective (what the UCC calls "nonconforming goods") the store must either replace it or return your money. The store cannot opt out of its obligation by establishing a different return policy that limits your rights in that regard.
