Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
I sold a used boat through a boat broker the end of June (30th) this year. The broker advised the buyer to hire a boat surveyor to survey the boat both out of the water, in the water, and during the sea trial. After some minor repairs that the surveyor recommended, the boat was sea trialed by the boat owner, the surveyor, and myself, and was found to run fine, we then finalized transfer of ownership at settlement. I got a call from the new owner of the boat, roughly 5 weeks later telling me he wanted some recompense up to me giving his purchase price back, and returning the boat to me, as he now had major engine problems. What are my rights and responsibilities?
