Not my bill

I have recently received notice of a debt that i knew nothing about, my ex-wife used my information to open an account, she has now defaulted on the account, the creditors are asking me to pay, what do i do....Desperate in....... Nj

You should act swiftly and decisively. You need to file an affidavit of fraud with the creditor. Request that they send you the paperwork. If they don't send it to you in a timely fashion, try to find a copy of one on the web. You will also need to follow up with your credit reports to make sure it is either removed or reported properly.
