old cell phone bill
I received a notice of collection for a cell phone bill from 9-99 to 8-00. I never signed a contract. I was the manager of a now bankrupt pager company�s storefront. They were a dealer for this cell phone company. The original bill was $1500 now it�s $1900. On the statements they have my name, the stores name and street number, my apartment and town, and of course my social security number. Do I have to pay this bill?

Your question is missing a few important pieces of information. First, you do not say what form the business took or whether you had an ownership interest in it. Second, you do not say whether there is any reason to think that you offered a personal guarantee.
Generally, an employee is not liable for the debts of his employer. There are some exceptions to this. Considering the age of the debt, my intuition is that the collection company is trying to make a last desperate attempt to collect a bad debt before suit is barred by the passage of time.

As a general proposition, an employee of a corporation is not liable for the corporation's debts. If you work for GM, you do not owe any part of that company's $1 billion debt.
There are factors which will affect whether you personally are liable.
