Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

How do I collect fee for work completed?

My small business completed graphic design work for

a Client and we are still owed over 300 dollars in fee.

The contract that we signed with the Client included

this fee yet the Client refuses to pay this last balance.

They claim some of the work detailed in the contract

was completed by them and not us. They are mistaken

and I have emails to reflect it. In fact, while specifics of

the project changed slightly after the contract was

signed, the overall scope and time required was

beyond the contracted fee. I gave them everything but

my left foot but they refuse to pay the last bit of fee. Do I

have any recourse? Please help. Thank you.

One clarification: if your business is a corporation or LLC, you will ask the clerk for the forms to file a commercial claim. Heard in the small claims part, uses the same procedure, but the form is different.
