Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

collection notice for $50

Couple months ago I rented a truck for a move from U-haul and paid everything via credit card. One day After returning truck U-haul posted another $50 on my credit card for absolutely no reason. I disputed the charge to Credit Card Company now U-Haul is trying to collect the money - $50 via a debt collection agency (1st notice receive on 7/12/07). Do you think this can go to my credit report. I have not provided them social security number anyway but do they have way to post this $50 charge on my credit report as collection item?

Re: collection notice for $50

Probably not yet. Most CA's don't report at first. If it goes on and you don't pay it, then they will report.
