Credit Card Debt
i thought a unsecured credit card from a bank could not be collected on. is this true? they say they can take me to court, and get a judgement.

Yes, they can. An unsecured debt can become "secured" if a creditor goes to court, obtains a judgment and then has the judgment docketed in the Superior Court in Trenton, New Jersey. At that time, the judgment will attach as a lien on all property owned by the debtor in the state. The judgment will not necessarily have priority over other secured debt, though. For example, if you purchased a property with a mortgage loan, that mortgage will take priority over the judgment.
