When a spouse dies and the surviving spouse is left with a credit card bill, but was not a liable party on the credit card or an authorized signer, is the surviving spouse liable for this unpaid debt?

Re: Credit cards

It depends on what the debt was incurred for. The State of New Jersey has the doctrine of 'necessaries'. Call me to discuss further, if you would like.

I am in Hackensack. A half hour consultation will be $75.00. You can then decide how you would like to proceed.
