Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Credit Fraud

Heres the thing my friend rented a machine from homedepot and what happen is the machines track came off the machine and now they want to charge us for it but we refuse to pay because it wasn't our fault that a track would have come off. Now my friend when we were renting it they asked us for our home telephone number and we gave it to them well his uncles name came up in the computer and we told them no our name is blah blah blah, so the guy put it in his uncles hame anyway, well my friend then handed them the credit card with his name on it not his uncles name and now his uncle said it was credit card fraud and he will be looking at 5-10 years in jail please respond immediatly.

Re: Credit Fraud

That sounds pretty crazy. This is a civil matter between home depot and the two of you. Someone would first need to file charges against you and I doubt that is going to happen. I would suggest you get an attorney sooner rather than later so if the cops try to speak with you, you can just point them to your attorney.

My initial consultations are always free. So, call me at 732/247/3340 if you have any other questions.
