If I default on my credit cards, can they put a lein on my home.

If you default on your credit cards, you may be sued. If you are sued, this may lead to a judgment being entered against you (either because you lost the suit or you ignored it). A docketed judgment acts as a lien on all real estate that you own in the State of New Jersey. So yes, credit card debt can eventually end up as a lien against your home.
