Default Judgment without me knowing

I had a Company sue me for a 7 year old credit card debt that was written off and I tried to pay years ago - it was sold to Pressler and Pressler, a compant that is some type of front for a company called New Century Financial - i went around for about a year getting hung up by them and mouthed off at. there was 20 court dates and motions filed that they kept canceling or sending letters to disregard the motions filed. They kept sending me letters that requested my ssn# and my bank acct numbers and very personal information. I wrote letters to them and to the court that I was not willing to give any personal information without this company even showing me any proof that there was even a debt or that they owned it. I requested from the court that the next court date coming up we would attend or I would like it dismissed. a few days later I recieved a letter from Pressler addressed to the court to disregard the motion for judgment and cancel the court date. 2 monthes went by and I got a letter in the mail from Pressler and Pressler stating that I had a summary judgment. I called the court and was told it was true and I could file a motion to vacate. Need some advice where to go from here.

You need a lawyer, and some good legal advice.

If the debt is over 6 years old, then you MIGHT have a defense of statute of limitations (there are several things that might apply which could take this defense away). It seems that you may have allowed a judgment to be entered against you.

Please, see a lawyer, me or someone else, immediately.
