Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
I just found out I have an outstanding utility bill from when I was 16. The utility company told be I would have to pay that full amount before I can get service in my name. I was 16 years old and I had no knowledge that my mother had done this. Can I be held legally responsible just because I lived with my mother and therefore the address that the utility was hooked up under?
