Incorrect reporting on credit report

My truck with GMAC was repossessed. I am presently making payments to the collection agency on a bi-momthly basis. GMAC is reporting me on a monthly basis as a new charge off. I requested that they modify to i ndicate ''paying as agreed'' in light of monthly payments but they refuse to do so. My credit score is suffering tremendously. What should I do?
