Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
Lawsuit
My ex-fiance worked all over the state and appointed me as his legal representative on all his creditor accounts. I paid all bills and he would deposit money directly into my bank from different locations. We broke up and he owes me $11,000 still. I live in NJ-he lives in AL...how do I sue him?

I think that you should get in personal, confidential communication with a business lawyer. Once you have a confidential, attorney-client relationship it will be appropriate to discuss your options. I think you may have some options that have not occurred to you but I am concerned that you will expose yourself to liability if you do not proceed very carefully.
If you want to discuss the matter further, give me a call and remind me that the contact came via Lawguru. Your first consultation will be free.

I agree with Mr. Corbett, you should sit down with an attorney to discuss this case. Keep in mind that you may have some problems here. First, can you prove he owes you the money and that this wasn't a gift? Second, can you find him and serve him? Third, would it be worth the attorneys fees to get an attorney. Fourth, even if you win, how will you get your money from him, i.e. you can't get blood from a stone?
You should think of all of that before file some action against him.
