Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
Letter of satisfaction
How can I obtain a warrant of satisfaction when the law firm that placed a lein and the original creditor has closed and satisfied the paid debt. Neither party will release a letter of satisfaction so that we can now obtain a mortgage. The law firm keeps saying they will send one out, but it's been weeks! Please advise.

If you are damaged by a judgment creditor's unreasonable failure to issue a warrant of satisfaction, you may sue for slander of credit. Contact a business lawyer near you for assistance.
