Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
NJ motor vehicle judgment
I have a judgment against me for an accident I had over 30 years ago.Is there a statute of limitations on this judgment. If not will the state of New Jersey settle for less money to satisfy this claim?

Re: NJ motor vehicle judgment
Generally, state court judgments remain of record for 20 years. But, they can be "refiled" for additional 20 year increments. It's always possible to propose a settlement of a judgment. Apparently, not much of an effort has been made by the state to enforce the judgment.
