my spouse lost job was 80% of household unable to pay unsecured credit card debt whats the worst that can happen

The worst is court lawsuits, judgments, then garnishment on wages and seizure of bank accounts, savings accounts, any other accounts, possibly seizure of automobile and other assets, lien on any house you may own.
