you do not give me enough information to respond. if you are trying to place a mechanic's lien (construction lien) on a residential property, then you have very short time limits and several requirements which must be met. You should IMMEDIATELY, today, call a lawyer who handles this area of law.
If you would like, give me a call; I am in northern New Jersey. I will be happy to discuss this with you; the telephone consultation will be free.
My contact information can be obtained from the links below, just click on the Attorney Profile link. Let my secretary know you found me through LawGuru.

Re: Placing a Lien to collect debt
If the debt is for materials or labor that were recently supplied to construct or repair the home, then a construction lien can be obtained without suit if the proper papers are filed within 90 days after the last services or materials were supplied. If the debt is for anything else, suit must be filed in Superior Court and a judgment obtained. The judgment then becomes a lien against all NJ real property owned by the judgment debtor.
If you need help filing for a construction lien, feel free to contact me. Do it quickly because there is a fair amount of paperwork and the 90 day period cannot be extended.
