Posible Judgement against me

I recently got a copy of my credit report on it there was a collection agecy phone #.I called and they gave me a phone #of an attorney and would only say it was regarding an auto claim. I had a claim about 9 yrs. ago and thought it was paid.How can i find out if there is a $ judgment against me on my own with out calling that attorney. ps.Im trying to buy a house and this might stop me.

The first thing to do is to contact the attorney and ask for proof of the debt. After you have that THEN you will be able to decide what the best course of action is.
